Fortunately, Sunday looks a lot better. The area of disturbance will have pushed northeast of the area, and beautiful weather is in store for the final day of the season for both the Pirelli World Challenge Series and all of the series under the Mazda Road To Indy banner. Mostly sunny skies and nice temperatures will greet you at the track. Winds will be light and variables to start off with, but will be out of the west-northwest at 5-10 MPH by afternoon. Highs will reach the mid 70s. Chance of rain is 0%.
By Scott Martin As of 4:18 AM PDT Saturday morning, radar for the immediate area surrounding Mazda Raceway was clear. There is a mass of showers that is located just offshore to the south that is slowly pushing to the north. The high pressure that was in charge has weakened due to an approaching trough. There is a disturbance off of the central California coast that an low pressure center (formerly known as Linda) is interacting with. As the disturbance heads towards the area today, a slight chance of convective showers and thunderstorms are possible in and around the area. Skies will stay mostly cloudy throughout the day. Highs expected to reach the upper 70s to near 80. Chance of rain is only 20%. Just remember, seek shelter if you see lightning.
