Here's what the radar looks like this morning:
The showers south of Detroit are moving NE, and should pass just south of Belle Isle if they are able to hold together. I expect that they will be weakening as they move into Lake Erie and Ontario and encounter drier air, so I don't think they will cause any issues at the track this morning.
Rain will be increasing around the area late this afternoon and this evening. There's a slight chance that the events late in the day, like the IndyCar race, could see some light rain, but it is more likely that the significant rain will hold off until after the events end. There is a small chance of some thunderstorms too.
The upper level trough will swing across the area on Sunday, which will keep scattered showers around the area. Most of this activity is expected to be in the afternoon. With coverage expected to be scattered, there could be on/off rain at times for the second IndyCar race and ths Stadium Super Trucks.. It does not look like this will be a heavy rain, with maybe a tenth of an inch of rain expected on Sunday.
