We are all in for a real treat here as this will be the first time in F1 history that the Miami Grand Prix will take place. Lots of anticipation has been building leading up to this race, so let's take a peek at this weather.
A Low pressure system to the north will be keeping wind directions southwesterly to westerly with plenty of moisture flowing through the site. Day-time heating and convection will trigger scattered thunderstorms around the area with a chance for them to affect the track. These storms would be intermittent and fast moving, so radar surveillance again will be crucial in deciding tire selections throughout the weekend. Wind speeds could get gusty but will remain mostly light to moderate as the pressure gradient will be mostly relaxed over Miami.
This is usual weather for the area as it is a coastal city and we are in the month of May at this point. Scattered showers and humidity are no surprises in this one. I will continue to monitor the likelihood of these conditions as the week goes on. A metric graphic is displayed below...
