It will be a beautiful day to open the Grand Prix of Long Beach and the Tequila Patron Sports Car Showcase today. There will be plenty of sunshine, and it will be a little breezy with a west wind at 10-15 mph gusting up to 25 mph at times in the afternoon.
As winds shift to the southwest and south, more moisture in the area will mean a greater potential for fog and low clouds late at night and into the morning on Saturday and Sunday. I'm more confident of fog developing Sunday morning, but it is possible both Saturday and Sunday. The fog may be dense at times, and on Sunday, it could linger through much of the morning. This could impact the SST race, PWC warm-up, the Indy Lights race, and possibly even the IndyCar warm-up at 10 AM. The onshore flow will also provide cooler temperatures, with highs Saturday and Sunday around 70.
