Forecast for the Trans Am Series action at Mid-Ohio looks like it could be wet at times, as a cold front is expected to push across the area on Saturday. For Thursday and Friday, a warm and humid airmass will be in place over the area. With the heating of the day, this will lead to the development of convective scattered storms mainly during the afternoon and early evening hours. It may not rain at the track, but the chance is 40% for both days.
On Saturday, a cold front will move through the area, and numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop along and ahead of it. Rainfall could be heavy at times with these storms, and since the airmass is pretty moist, there is a potential for some localized flooding issues. Even rain tires and wipers might not be enough to keep the cars on the track. I really hope for this forecast to be a bust, especially on Saturday, because who doesn't love the Trans Am Series.
