A nice weekend is expected at Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the Berryman Trans Am at the Brickyard.
Thursday's practice sessions will have nice weather conditions with a high pressure system over the area, providing mostly sunny skies and high temperatures in the lower 80s. On Friday a warm front will be lifting northward across Indiana, and this could bring a few light showers to the area through the day. Timing is too uncertain this far out for any details, but I think the chance of the rain having any impact is very low, with just a 20% chance of seeing any rain at all.
South winds behind the front will bring warmer temperatures and increasing humidity for the weekend. A large high pressure ridge through the mid and upper levels of the atmosphere will keep any chance of rain well to the north of Indianapolis both Saturday and Sunday, with mostly sunny skies expected each day. With the high pressure ridge strengthening over the area and the southerly flow at the surface, temperatures will reach the upper 80s on Saturday, and the lower 90s on Sunday. So if you're heading to the track, water and sunscreen will be must-haves.
