For me, it's the most exciting time of the racing season. It is time for the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama at Barber Motorsports Park... my hometown track. While I believe we'll get through the on-track activity on Saturday and Sunday, we may have to put up with some rainfall during the first half of the day on Friday. Here are the details.
We'll have a disturbance sweeping through Central Alabama that will bring a chance of a few scattered shower and thunderstorms during the first half of the day on Friday. After that, skies will begin to slowly clear and we'll remain dry throughout the rest of the daytime hours and through the night. the daytime high at the track should top out in the mid-70s. The chance of rain is around 40% and rainfall amounts should stay below 0.10 inches if it rains at all. Winds will start off out of the south at 5-10 MPH and will shift slightly out of the southwest by the late morning hours.
We'll have a good bit of sunshine with just a few clouds passing overhead throughout the day on Saturday, but be sure to grab you a frozen lemonade from the concession stands as the daytime highs will be getting very close to 80 degrees by the late afternoon. Winds will be out of the north to northeast at 2-7 MPH and the chance of rain is 0% at this point.
