The great news with tonight's update is that rain will not be an issue for the entire weekend at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The bad news is that top speeds may suffer a little as temperatures will be mighty warm, even approaching the 90-degree mark on Sunday for the Fast Nine. Here is the breakdown for both days:
Saturday
Practice #6 (9:30 am - 10:30 am)
Skies: Partly cloudy.
Temperature: 73-77 degrees.
Winds: WSW at 5-10 mph.
Qualifying Round 1 (12:00 pm - 5:50 pm)
Skies: Partly cloudy.
Temperature: 82-85 degrees.
Winds: WSW at 5-10 mph.
Sunday
Practice #7 (11:00 am - 12:00 pm)
Skies: Mostly sunny..
Temperature: 82-85 degrees.
Winds: W at 5-10 mph.
Qualifying - Last Row (1:15 pm - 2:30 pm)
Skies: Mostly sunny..
Temperature: 87-88 degrees.
Winds: W at 5-10 mph.
Qualifying - Fast Nine (3:00 pm - 3:45 pm)
Skies: Mostly sunny..
Temperature: 88 degrees.
Winds: W at 5-10 mph.
Practice #8 (5:00 pm - 7:00 pm)

Temperature: 88-86 degrees.

At this point, looking out in Voodoo Land as it is still more than seven days out, a system will be moving through the area early on Sunday morning (May 30th) that looks to be out of the area several hours before the green flag falls for the 105th Indianapolis 500. Hopefully the track will dry in time and the pre-race ceremonies will not be wet. It will be cooler than what we'll see this weekend, but till on the warm side as projected highs looks to be around 80 degrees. A few showers may be possible on Carb Day, but it will be warm with the projected high around 82 degrees.
