By Doug Schneider The general pattern that's expected this weekend across the Southeast hasn't changed much since my last forecast, but I've made a few tweaks to temperatures. The entire Trans Am weekend at Road Atlanta will have dry weather with plenty of sunshine, but temperatures will be below normal. Normal high temperatures in the area are around 70 degrees, with normal low temperatures in the mid 40s. The expected below-normal temperatures are due to a deep low pressure trough in the mid and upper levels of the atmosphere, bringing the jet stream farther south, which produces a northwest flow of cold air from central Canada. Friday and Saturday will be breezy, with west to northwest winds of 10 to 20 mph both days, with gusts up to 30 mph possible at times. A cold front will move through early Saturday morning, but no precipitation is expected from it. Highs on Saturday will only reach the mid 50s. Sunday morning will be quite cold, with lows in the mid 30s, but at least the temperatures will rise into the 60s by the afternoon.
